Do you know the main labels, which characterize products as good for the environment? Here is an overview.
The Blue Angel - Protection for the environment
The Blue Angel has been in existence since 1977 and is the first and oldest label for environmental protection in the world – and it is particularly reliable. Herlitz trusts in the Blue Angel and has numerous paper products in the assortment labelled with the Blue Angel.
The mission of the Blue Angel is the promotion of environmental and consumer protection. Offers are tested on their positive qualities, such as environmental friendliness, durability and disposal. For example for tissue paper, writing paper, copy paper and cardboards the Blue Angels guarantees that the proportion of recycled paper is to 100%.
Currently 226 articles branded with "Herlitz" are labelled with the Blue Angel.
The Green Dot - For environmentally recycling
The Green Dot is a registered trademark of the Dual System Deutschland GmbH and indicates sales packaging in Germany and 22 other European countries. All products of Herlitz obviously contribute to the Green Point.
The print of the Green Dot on packaging means that the manufacturers have paid a financial contribution for the collection, sorting and recycling of the packaging to the Dual System Deutschland GmbH. So, the Green Dot is not an environmental but a financial label. However, the label ensures that the packaging is recycled proper and environmentally friendly after being sent to the collection points.
The Euro Flower - The European eco-label
The eco-label, launched in 1992, identifies environmentally friendly products for everyday consumption (except drugs and food).
Once awarded, the products can be labelled in all EU Member States. Currently there are marked approximately 398 products from 17 different product groups with the European flower. The label with the flower is given as soon as the products nationally have been tested by independent agencies.
